'Tis the season... (Automobile donations) to think about taxes
CHARLOTTE While Christmas might be over, plenty of people are still in the giving spirit. Many make charitable donations in an attempt not only to give, but also receive. Most donations to charities are tax write-offs, so for some giving really is better than receiving.
The annual Benson Christmas Toy Drive has turned out to be one of the best ever, with major financial and toy donations being made by the community during the last month.

The final week of the year bookended by Christmas and New Years is typically the time when the non-profit group receives the most donations.
SPRINGDALE -- Readers of The Morning News can help impoverished children in Northwest Arkansas with a donation to the Community Christmas Card fund. As of Wednesday, 13,584 had been collected.
PASADENA - Maria Aguilar hasn't met any of the seven people whose lives were saved by her daughter's organ and tissue donations.
